Caution

  • This Router App has been tested on a router with firmware version 6.3.10. After updating the router firmware to a higher version, check whether a newer version of the Router App has also been released and update it accordingly for compatibility.

Description

The pduSMS Router App allows the router and its users to send short text messages (SMS) to a selected phone number. Unlike the router's standard Send SMS function (in the Administration section of the web configuration), this Router App supports sending long SMS messages — messages exceeding the standard 160-character limit.

The pduSMS Router App has a web interface accessible by clicking the Router App name on the Router Apps page of the router's web interface. The left pane contains only the Return item, which returns to the router's main web configuration interface. The right pane contains a form for sending SMS messages. Enter the recipient's phone number in the Phone Number field and the message text in the Message field.

Messages can also be sent from the command line by running /opt/pduSMS/bin/pduSMS followed by up to 20 phone numbers separated by spaces and the message text in double quotes.
